The Symposium was hosted by the nonprofit Quiet Adventures Society, formerly the Quiet Water Society. Admission for adults was $15 in advance through Feb 26, $20 at the door, students w/ID $5, and children under 12 were free.

Our 2024 Program Book is available digitally. Check it out, see what the 2024 event was like. Download and enjoy!

The Quiet Adventures Symposium is where people passionate about quiet non-motorized activities come together. The group includes paddlers and bicyclists, hikers and fishermen and women, backpackers and campers, and all other quiet adventurers. The number of attendees reaches 1,500-2,000, depending on Michigan weather. The best adventure experts come and speak on a wide range of topics. Speakers will share their experiences and expertise about Isle Royale, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness,  Mt Blanc, Patagonia, Mississippi River (fast and slow)
to name a few places.

We had Grand Prize Raffles for both Surf and Turf Categories.  The Power of Water
sponsored a 14' P&H Virgo Sea Kayak (or a voucher for a different boat, with a voucher value of $2100).  Denny's sponsored a Sirrus Bike (or a voucher for a different bike and accessories), with a voucher value of $1500. (Neither voucher has a cash value.) There were also the usual array of Door Prizes. Thanks to a special donation, we had a beautiful Red Cedar Strip 14' rowboat, a Cosine Wherry, as a silent auction item.

Exhibitors brought their outdoor wares to sell and talk about. Everything from hatchets to jewelry, boats to bikes, cars to hammocks. There were guides and outfitters to help connect participants with adventure. In the arena fly fishing and other skills could be practiced. Many local conservation and advocacy groups were at the show with informative and interesting booths. A Youth area was staffed by the MSU Extension 4-H. Painting paddles and canoes, exploring eagle scat, and more! Nature Discovery joined in with Michigan Reptiles to enjoy.

We thank Williams Subaru for their continued support as show sponsors. Thanks also to our new Show Sponsors, the Tri-County Bicycle Association (TCBA) and DALMAC, the Dick Allen Lansing to MACkinaw bike tour. Great Lakes Paddlers sponsored the Au Sable River Room.  Denny's and The Power of Water have sponsored with us for the Grand Prize Raffle of a bike and a kayak.
